Weigh In 11

by

Another Monday, another weigh in. I don’t often totally dread weighing in, but I certainly did this morning. Getting on that scale was the last thing I wanted to do. But, as I always do, I finally just got it done.

SW: 256
LW: 246
CW: 246

No change from last week, unfortunately.

After last week’s weigh in, things started to get weird. I started getting these massive, very hard to fight off cravings for anything and everything sweet. Then came the being crabby. Starting yesterday, I get to deal with the fatigue and massive headache.

See, just because my body isn’t producing the ‘M’ of PMS doesn’t mean I get to skip over all the other fun hormonal things that happen. And it doesn’t always stop after a week. (One of the reasons I’m getting fit, that’s for sure.)

So yes, I’m in a bit of a bad mood this week. I don’t like being crabby or emotional, but I suppose it just comes with the territory. I think I’ll be much happier the first weekend of November when we can actually afford the elliptical. (Things would have been just a bit too squeasy this fortnight if we had bought it last weekend.) I’ll also be happier when I see weight dropping off again, but that’s pretty much an every week kind of thing.

I’ll try to be a bit peppier for the rest of this week. I’ll try not to indulge in any sweets. Anyone have suggestions of alternatives?

Dontcha love being a girl? Sucks.

I don’t really have any tips other than maybe tricking yourself with stuff that is sweet but not bad for you. Maybe some fruit? Right now in our neck of the woods the apples are fabulous. Or some sugar free candies.

I get terrible munchies so I stick with nuts or even Goldfish crackers.

Apples are an excellent idea. Yummy. I won’t go the way of sugar free candy, unfortunately. I tend to get sick with artificial sweeteners.

Goldfish! I need to see if I can get them over here.

I haven’t touched sweets in a long time, so I don’t crave them. But when I feel like I’ve got the munchies I warm up some homemade veggie broth with a little soy sauce and sip it slowly. Recently I discovered I can nuke a quarter cup of popcorn in a plain paper bag and season it myself…a little salt, brewer’s yeast, or whatever. Sultanas. Any fruit, dried or fresh (caution with the dried, though; sometimes there’s nasty additives). I also keep lots of chopped raw veg in the fridge: carrots, zuke, celery…

Hope these suggestions help. Keep up the good work, stay active, stay focused. ((HUGS))

Yes, I’m supposed to avoid dried fruit completely. (I’d eat it if we dried it ourselves, though.)

Thank you for the tips. I think a lot of the struggle for me comes from the mental side of things, so I definitely have to work on that.
