Adventures With Food
I have a lot of restrictions on me (I don’t even know them all yet because I haven’t finished going through all the paperwork with a fine tooth comb) for the next six weeks, so cooking and eating in general are going to be interesting activities.
The general rules I have about food are:
1. Eat every three hours. (I’m actually eating about every two except for the wait between afternoon snack and dinner so the timing with my husband coming home works out.)
2. Eat a carb with a protein. Protein can only be the size and the thickness of my palm.
3. Eat small meals. (That’s a given with how often I’m eating.)
4. No starchy veggies.
5. Week one = One grain meal a day (for one or two weeks)
6. Week two or three = alternate between one grain meal a day and two grain meals a day (do for the rest of the diet)
7. No more than 7g of sugar in soy milk, substitute yogurt, etc
8. Drink 1.5 to 2 litres of water per day
Add on all the food restrictions and you have my diet. It had been weird eating that much – even in small amounts – but I’m sure it’s nothing I’ll have trouble getting used to. And I have already been having fun with food!
I can’t have pretty much any lettuce I have ever heard of, so unless I find it on the list I have yet to check, I’ll be using rocket. I worried a bit about not being able to have dressing. But I solved the problem!
For lunch I cooked up some small chicken thigh pieces (I can’t remember exactly what they are called), added in some pumpkin and carrot. Then I added in just a bit of organic tomato soup for flavouring. It smelled absolutely delicious. When it was all cooked up, I put the veggies and chicken on the rocket and then poured the tomato soup over the lot like dressing.
Yum!
I have officially solved my first ‘what can I have for lunch?’ dilemma. And I’m proud of myself.
Onwards and upwards!

Sounds fun, lol. Oddly enough something this rigid and structured would probably work better for me ‘cuz I tend to get sidetracked VERY easily. You seem to adapt pretty well so I’m sure in a few days or so you’ll be coasting along with no problems

I usually respond best to firm lines of you can/you can’t. That’s why the WW points system didn’t work that great for me.
